The problem is, some absolutely crucial aspects are shown to you once, never to be seen or accessed ever again. On your playthrough you were given a short tutorial mission which shows you how some basic aspects of the game work. Firstly, two big issues with the game are a) the lack of information on how to play the game and game mechanics and b) inventory management on the PS4 port. The basis for a good game is here but the execution is poor and the port lazy. The game play is like the former and survival aspect the latter. A much better comparison would be to describe it as a cross between Valkyria Chronicles and This War is Mine (one of my favourite Indy games). I've seen loose comparisons with games like Xcom purely because it's a turn based strategy with guns. I've almost finished it and spent a lot of hours, I feel well placed to weigh up the pros and cons. This game, frankly is pretty horrible and mainly down to the appalling PS4 port.
